Subject Matter -- Dami Oyelola "That Good Good Blogger"

Yes her  style looks American but No!, she's Nigerian but that isn't the morale of this interview. Many tend to paint a perfect picture of themselves during an interview and you can almost see that trying to impress the readers.

Some blog about fashion, many about their individual lives but the interviewee today is nothing close to what your idea of a fashion blogger is. Though, I do not know her personally but you can almost see the genuineness in this interview. Dami has she calls herself has an insatiable taste for style & fashion and the philosophic mind of life. Through showcasing different styles, ThatGoodGoodBlog teaches you lessons about people and Life that goes way beyond the influence of Marc Jacobs.

One of the main goals of BlogLight is to give the platform to bloggers who are as important as artists and socialites the platform, as they have also inputted an immeasurable amount of time writing, editing and posting the subject matter. Ladies and gents., this is by far the best interview I have done so far. She not only exuberates the GOOD LIFE but also a GOOD BLOG.

*Drum roll* I present to you ThatGoodGoodBlogger!

Name, Age, Nationality
Dami “Dee” Oyelola . 20 . Nigerian . Pennsylvania.

How did you get into blogging and why?
Originally, the blog was a product of a summer vacation boredom. However, it has transformed from something I did simply to occupy my time into my passion.. Having this unique opportunity to share the people, places, sights, and sounds that inspire me with over 1,000 people is nothing short of a blessing. I'm really thankful for this opportunity

What is the concept behind THE GOOD GOOD BLOG?
I have this somewhat odd concept in my head that seems to define the creative, entrepreneurial, and awe-inspiring revolution that is taking place amongst my peers. Has there ever been a time when so many young people, especially those of color, were indulging themselves so deeply into the diverse cultures of fashion, art, music, and commerce? Everywhere I look, I see someone my age starting a business, building a brand, creating a masterpiece, doing something! My generation is not sitting still; we are out here hustling. Hard. I think it’s so good. As a matter of fact, it’s better than good so I feel compelled to say it twice (hence that good good)

Define what a GOOD BLOG is
A good blog, to me, is a blog that has an owner who is really invested in what they are writing. There has to be a genuine interest and a passion for your subject matter. If that interest and passion is missing, it manifests itself in the blog and the blogger’s posts will be lackluster. It doesn’t matter if your blog is about fishing, food, or fashion; the blogger needs to love what they are saying before other people can.

What do you find most challenging about blogging?
The biggest challenge for me lately has been finding the time and the inspiration. However, when I have the time and the inspiration, it’s magic.

What do you do when you are not working on your blog
Besides blogging, I have a bunch of other activities that I enjoy delving into. I love having really deep conversations with friends for hours and hours about life and love and the pursuit of our own definitions of happiness. I love to just stay in my room with incense burning and music playing and just think. I love laughing, making other people laugh, thrifting, reading, dancing, writing poetry; the list goes on and on and on. I try to keep myself as busy as possible. But I must say, blogging has been the most rewarding hobby I've ever taken up. It has taught me so much about myself and has given me a renewed sense of conviction in my ideas and beliefs.

What is the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
The best thing a blogger can give to his or her readers is information & inspiration. Tell the people something they HAVEN’T heard and uplift the people with an encouraging word

How do you understand social media beyond blogging?
Social media is an extremely potent entity. If utilized properly, you can really make a name for yourself
Any offers so far and what are they
I have had some offers but I'm not at the liberty to discuss them in interviews, unfortunately

Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. What are yours and why?
I have too many favorite posts to name in all honesty, but one that inspired me the most was my interview with an artist from Trinidad named Brianna McCarthy. My least favorite would probably be one of my earlier posts that I created before I got the hang of blogging but I don’t have a specific least favorite.

Name some of the blogs and magazine that you read

What is your plan going forward
I definitely plan on expanding my content in the future. I have been realizing how much time blogging demands and how hard it is for 1 person to come up with ideas all the time. Sometime down the road, I plan on enlisting the help of other individuals who share my interests and who would like to contribute to the blog. With a team of people helping me, I feel like there will be a constant flow of new ideas and different perspectives which may be lacking from my blog right now since it's just me

What would be a few things you would suggest to a would-be Blogger?
Make sure you are truly interested in what you are blogging about. Your blog is your own space in the worldwide web to broadcast your own ideas so you should talk about the things you love! When you are truly invested in your topic, blogging will be so much easier and more enjoyable
